These boots were a major throwback for me…

#fbf lol circa 2007’ish (?)

These boots were my first major purchase as a teen. I felt so grown and awesome because, at the time, I hadn’t seen many people wearing Moccasins.

At one point, I got really tired of these knee high boots and tucked them nicely away for a long time in a corner of my closet. Lately, the weather has been warm for this holiday season, when it should be well below the 50’s F. Sneakers leave me too exposed to the cool air but winter boots are heavy and hot. I decided to revive these boots since they’re extremely comfortable yet warm, albeit, don’t look it. The fringe is a classic touch of charm without looking over produced. The Forever 21 mini knit dress has a geometric pattern that gives like an overall, fifty shades of blue, bohemian look. I loved how round and perky my belly looked through this dress. Thank goodness for knit & spandex cause maternity clothes looks horrible on my petite body.

Thank you for checking out my blog and checking out this post, let me know what your thoughts are about this #ootd on the comments below! ✌️

Prego Skeletal Halloween x Withdrawals

The best part about Halloween is the drama that bubbles up through the creativity and energy of those ready to recreate something that was once memorable and sometimes a bit ironic. the drama that you anticipate. October has a bit of bewilderment, something  that the rest of the 11 months lack.

Well seeing how I’m only going to have this pregnant-halloween experience once or atleast not for a long time after (unless 10 years down the line fate interferes lol you know what I mean ladies) I wanted to make the best of it by dress up! I made it myself or rather customized it myself. I already had a bunch of school items laying around and needed a clever reason to put them into good use. I paired a solid black, steve-jobey, Zara turtle neck knit shirt with some Walmart pregnancy leggings (that are serious lifesavers!). Then drew out the shape of the rib cage and the skeletal fetus. Added some fabric glue and some white thread, then I was done. An awesome, inexpensive Halloween costume inspired by Pinterest! lol

Potters Clay Color Block

For this nail design update, I really wanted to incorporate a autumn feel by using this clayish shade. When I saw the color, it instantly reminded me of one of the many Pantone colors for Fall 2016 that I wrote a post about a few weeks ago, which called the color Potters Clay for the russet orange undertone. This one in particular is called Brick House by Deborah Lippman lacquer. My favorite part about the Deborah Lippman lacquer is that it retains an impeccable shine without having to add layers of shine coating to finish it. Using the instagram image as inspiration, I colored blocked the Brick House with the pale white by Wet n Wild called Break The Ice, to represent the changing season! Nothing like a high and low mix to create something amazing. I hope you enjoy & let me know what you think of this design in the comments below!

Where do I even start…I’m huge & I’m only getting bigger by the weeks. I found out about my pregnancy early in May, at the time it still seemed a bit unreal because I wasn’t showing and everything still fit perfectly. Lately, though, its been more of a challenge to keep up with some basic things that I took for granted pre pregnancy.

&& if your curious about the gender, don’t worry, it’s an alien  👽

😅 lol jp. I’m having a baby girl.

I was recommended by other moms that I should have a sense of humor about this journey, a la Ali Wong: Baby Cobra.

I’ve filtered plenty of things out of my closet because of the fast and growing changes of my body #nobodygoals #miniball. I’ve just been really thankful for all the stretchy, knit and spandex’y fabrics that I’ve passionately collected throughout the years. I took advantage of a beautiful sunny day by wearing something off the shoulder, like this top & these awesome Ray Ban aviator sunglasses that pumped some serious mojo to the rest of the look. Coupling the outfit with my favorite bag with faux gold detail for added touches cohesiveness, I was ready to set sail (figuratively).

Thankfully, Fall just started in NYC & I’m looking forward to getting some key outerwear pieces and some killer accessories to add definition to my growing body, baby and what ever life challenges ahead (literally, I’m talking about 30 degree mornings with very little heat to welcome you out of bed).

Lately, I’ve been wearing a lot more hats and I’ve come to realize that it has so much versatility from hiding bad hair days, uplifting any outfit & instantly creating a more casual, easy going feel mood. The color of the hat is anywhere from grey to light blue (?) I can’t really tell but because its one of those random light colors, it blended really nicely with the different tones of my wardrobe. My take for streetwear is comfort (life’s already tough enough) but also attractive. Now that its the beginning of the fall season, I’m ready for more layers, especially with sweaters. NYC’s cold for seventy-five percent of the year and I know I can’t have enough outerwear. Hope you liked the look (and the local street cat that kind of reminds me of batman)!

Pantone: Fall 2016 Fashion Report!

It’s that time of year again where all the top fashion editors, influencers and elite are preparing themselves for the crazy schedule that’ll be Fashion week. The month long journey of the Spring 2017 collections beginning in New York City and traveling through the major fashion capitals of the world like; London, Paris & Milan.

Albeit the media will be all over what the runway shows will display for next season, currently I’m more interesting in what colors and hues and shades will emerge this Fall season until next year. Almost all summer I was wearing blacks or greys and now that the fall is here, undoubtedly, black will be one of the dominant colors throughout many new yorker’s closets and theres no better time then the change of a season.

Pantone, the authorities on color that provide color systems and leading technology for accurate communication of colors for a wide range of industries including the fashion, has available a list of colors that’ll be dominant throughout Fall 2016.

Below are the list of colors:

Gym Bag Chronicles

Look Two

Look One

Image Three

Every morning, moments before I rush out of my house, I stop for a few seconds and contemplate if I should bring my gym bag. Then I spend the next few seconds thinking about all the reasons not to, just to make the decision easier. But moments before I step out the door, I quickly rush upstairs and throw a few things in a separate backpack.

I’ve come to realize that by keeping all the items in the same bag consistently saves time and brain power! Keeping things as a routine allows for easy organizing. These are just some of my last 5 minute choices and as of right now, my body’s going through some changes for the next few months. It’s a must for me to keep like 5 water bottles in my bag daily!

4th Of July 2016 x RECAP

2

Bless the 3 day weekends! lol My 4th of July was spend with a lot of family quality time along with great cooking, smokey bbq, some fireworks but sadly a lot of rain towards the end. Countless number of people around the neighborhood were lighting their own firework rockets. The #ootd for the nations celebration of independence was something airy & comfortable, just to feel the slight breeze that managed to travel through even with the hot sun steaming.

A funny moment that occurred during the middle of our 4th of July bbq was when we almost lost our pet rabbit.

Most of my family attended the bbq & when I mean everyone, I’m also talking about our house pets, Chocolate the rabbit and Dardy our Shiht Zhu. Our rabbit is a short eared, solid black, mini rabbit. She’s always kept indoors but my father decided to give her a vacation by bringing her to the grassy areas of the backyard where we were having the bbq. When we looked at her, she seemed like she was in nirvana as the the sun was shinning on her. But for her protection, we kept the top of her cage on her so they’ll be no risk of losing her.

Without realizing, the door to Chocolates cage opened because my youngest brother had fallen on top of it! No one noticed that her cage popped open and when my dad went to check up on her, she was GONE! We were frantically looking for her all over the the backyard and we were worried that she had wondered off into our neighbors yard or worst, that the local owl took her for dinner! 😱

Eventually (20 minutes later) we found her grazing the grass under the family car. Leisurely, hopping from one patch to another. We all started laughing at the coincide that  at all of times we could have lost Chocolate, imagine it being on the 4th of July of 2016!

For this weekend adventure and mothers day, I visited the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens where they had a variety of plant species native to different regions of Asia. The colors were so vibrant and exciting to see that they almost felt hypnotizing lol. It was so pleasing to smell the aromatic lilac gardens because some had a great refreshing aroma that was so calming and refreshing. The more we lingered along the variety of species of lilacs the more I realized why many products in the perfume & cosmetics industry use hints of lilac.

There were many times where I was tempted to break a few of the flowers I was photographing and take them home.. but I didn’t, guilt got the best of me.

The outfit I wore was comfortable but the breeze made the weather feel chiller especially the later the day became (the temperature dropped like 20 degrees) and I only wished I had worn something warmer. I went with something casual that emphasized mostly the jacket. I’ve always wanted a jacket with flares towards the hips. I’ve never owned a trench coat before either so when i saw this coat… I knew that baby had to go home with me!

NASTY GAL, NASTY GAL, NASTY GAL… I remember looking at their ads on Facebook and never really taking the time to explore their website back then. It wasn’t until all my girlfriends were taking about the clothes that I had to see what the hype was about. Then I read the #GIRLBOSS autobiography and I was completely taken away by Sophia Amoruso.  When I went on my trip to California, I was so excited to find the Nasty Gal store in Santa Monica. I fell in love  with these sneaker heals but didn’t get them right away and it wasn’t until I saw them on sale on the site that I knew these colorful sneaker heals (wedges?) had to be mine.
