Golden brush strokes

As my family was walking home after visiting our local Salvation Army, we stumbled on a pretty simple wall. It was simple, at least, compared to the other abstract and intricate street art walls surrounding this simple one. The wall was painted black with different brush strokes scattered over the black paint. In the center, what I’m assuming, was the artist’s graffiti signature drawn in a goldish brown hue. It was extravagantly minimalistic but with a pop because of the contrasting colors. It caught my attention from afar and drew me closer to observe the work, very much like an art gallery. I liked that it wasn’t overly conceptualized but neither was it a “wall flower”. The work had a balance while adding balance to the collection of street art surrounding it.

Naturally, I felt it would make an interesting backdrop. I didn’t notice the artists credentials or maybe I just overlooked it. But if you ever find yourself in Brooklyn, take the J train to Brooklyn and get off on a stop called Myrtle ave. Walk a few blocks south and you’ll spot it by making a left in the corner of the Papa Johns pizzeria.

I know I should have taken a picture of the street art by itself. I apologize. I only hope that it won’t distract you from being inspired by my very casual outfit of the day. My rain coat is from Nike. The black fleece pullover, a gift from a family member who traveled to Colombia. The black leggings from Pink by Victoria secret (although a size too big on my petite frame). The navy blue faux leather sack bag was thrifted from a Salvation Army across town. It’s been my favorite go to bag and it’s in great condition. I only wish I knew the brand. Yet again, do I really want to know? Lol

This is a casual Friday street wear workout sporty outfit. The best part about it are my favorite throwback ombre hot pink and purple Nike sneakers because their so eye catching and comfortable. It instantly adds life to any occasion and emotionally, it brightens my mood!

Since my body is still bouncing back from my pregnancy, I’ve been wearing a lot of black on a day to day basis which sucks. Wearing black is very slimming but it makes you feel hotter and with the NYC humidity, your like a walking sauna which is not cool. But I won’t get tired of wearing my Straight Outta Compton t-shirt because its perfectly oversized to wear as a mini dress or tie it in the center to add more shape. I thought it be relevant to wear because of the release of the Tupac movie All Eyez On Me, which I can’t wait to go see this weekend! Even though its kind of a throwback fad to the summer of 2015 when these shirts were everywhere with the release of the movie.

I hope you’ve enjoying this dose of minimal and sporty inspo #ootd. Let me know in the comments below if you like this outfit/or the sneakers. Also, which movies have you seen in theaters lately? Are you excited to see the Tupac movie? Was he your favorite 90’s artist?

Like always, have a blessed day!

When I have somewhere to go, I immediately just throw on a few things that I know are going to be flexible enough for me to move quickly around the city. There’s many factors to consider because, if suddenly, I need to run to catch the last train, that fear of missing it is so dear that it gets your adrenaline pumping to take flight. If theres a possibility of catching it, why wouldn’t anyone try to not do anything in their power to catch it? I love sporty styles cause it can blend to different occasions without looking over dressed or under dressed. As I put together this look, I kept on thinking about how good I wanted to feel while wearing different layers, as well as looking good without so much on (its a challenging balance especially when you can’t predict how long the days going to be and how many places your going to visit). Enjoy the pictures everyone and please let me know what you think 🙂
